Now’s the Time to Dream

As we near the end of the year, we naturally take stock of the past and dream about what’s possible next year.

Could this be the year you write that book that’s been building up inside you? Start a new business? Or take the major vacation you’ve been thinking about for years now?

Or is this the year you take control of your health? The year you drop those pounds, run that marathon, or just finally start getting the rest you desperately need?

Maybe this is the year you revitalize your most significant relationships. What would it mean to your spouse, your kids, and closest friends if you were finally and fully available to them?

What about your finances? Could the next twelve months be the turning point—when you finally pay off that last debt, build for the future, or fund a ministry or cause you deeply believe in?

I’m confident it can be. But not if you simply write up your resolutions and hope for the best.

It Takes More Than Dreams

To make meaningful progress toward significant goals requires the right intention and a proven plan. There are too many obstacles and distractions to trust our hopes alone. We’ve all been there and know better, don’t we?

As I reveal in my free new video series, Design Your Life: A Proven System to Stop Drifting and Finally Achieve Your Best Year Ever, I learned this the hard way.

I got married and with high hopes of happily raising a family and doing the work I love. But it wasn’t long before the circumstances got tough.

I was trying to make a living and needed a promotion to provide for our growing family. I steadily found myself working more hours. At one point I was literally going into the office at 5:00 in the morning and leaving about 7:00 at night.

Instead of raising my kids, I hardly saw them awake! My marriage suffered and so did my health.

Most of us have some version of this story. We wake up and realize the life we dream about is not the one we’re living—not by a long shot.

I could have settled into the reality I’d created and let my dreams die. Instead, I began to turn it all around. It wasn’t instantaneous. But even my initial steps made a big difference.

Once I started gaining momentum, the changes were obvious to everyone—especially my wife, kids, and closest friends.

Today my key relationships are better than ever. I’m having more financial success—and fun—than ever before. I’m in the best shape of my life, and I’m making meaningful progress toward my personal and professional goals.

And here’s what’s great: the more I accomplish, the more expansive the horizon becomes. Possibilities I couldn’t have dreamed of a decade ago are now in my sights.
